“I would rather die than see my son continue suffering.”

"It’s the worst pain imaginable", Ahmed Ali says, holding his son’s hand. He’s too exhausted to cry - the tragedy has become routine for him.
"No suffering describes how I feel when I look at my son. When I see him like this and I know there is nothing I could do to help."

The child’s name is Ahmed Ali, and he’s been sick for 8 years - his entire life. It started with malnutrition, but it appears things have gotten much worse than that.

"Where do you live?", I asked him.
"We live... here and there. Wherever we can find work.", he said.
"Do you have a home?", I asked.
“We used to live in a hut, but the rains took it away. Now we live wherever we can.”, he said.
"He’s been sick for 6 years, but coming to the hospital is pointless. I never have enough money. I never know how much they’re going to charge." he said.

They spent all their savings on medicines and procedures which means they no longer can afford food.

"Today I couldn’t afford lunch for anybody. We will not eat tonight either.", he said.

Without the food - he will just get sick. It’s a cycle that gets worse and worse. Either we come up with the money to pull them out forever - Or they continue in a downward spiral.

We helped him pay for food and medicine, but they have a long way to go before they’re saved for good.

If everybody watching this just gave $10, we could solve this problem once and for all.

“My son is going to die in front of me, I know it. I feel so helpless, I would give anything for his health. I would gladly give my own life. I will do anything to save him."
